Event Details

Based on the novel, The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant by Douglass Wallop, Damn Yankees the Broadway mega-hit and winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, hits it out of the park! The winning score by Adler and Ross and a devilish book by George Abbot have made this sporty musical comedy a true American classic.

Middle-aged baseball fanatic Joe Boyd, trades his soul to the Devil, also known as Mr. Applegate, for a chance to lead his favorite team to victory in the pennant race against the New York Yankees. As young baseball sensation, Joe Hardy, he transforms the hapless Washington Senators into a winning team, only to realize the true worth of the life that he’s left behind. Joe ultimately outsmarts Applegate, returns to his former self and shepherds the Senators to the World Series.

Light, fast-paced and devilishly clever, Damn Yankees is a home run hit, featuring all-American subject matter and an irreverent sense of humor. The perfect choice for a high school’s spring musical or community theatre production, Damn Yankees is a wicked, romantic comedy, sure to please.

Event Details

“Re-Hatched Artist Market” is hosted by the Quinlan Visual Arts Center in an ongoing partnership with the “Spring Chicken Festival”, a City of Gainesville and Main Street event. We will have vendors selling “Recycled Art” which can be defined as art created from old, used or repurposed items and even day to day “trash.” From these components, artists are able to create something new, attractive and useful. By doing this, we end up lessening the amount of trash and waste that goes into our landfills and breathe new life into the components through the creation of brand-new, aesthetically pleasing works. Recycled art, also referred to as “junque art” is an environmentally-friendly art form from re-used waste. products, helping to keep the environment clean. Artists participating in the market who have links/websites or Facebook pages may include this information so that we can mention you in our social media—which reaches nearly 10,000 people weekly! The event is held on the historic Downtown Gainesville Square at the Gainesville Spring Chicken Festival. Booth fee is $50.

Sets at Sunset- Georgia’s Destination Event on the Lake

Everyone needs a lake day, but what is a lake day without good vibes? Do you want a music festival that brings the deepest genres together in one lakefront venue? This year at Sets at Sunset, we plan to do just that. While other music festivals and events focus on the lights, the lasers and pyrotechnics and the trap music, Sets at Sunset wants to bring dance music back to its roots and create a more laid back festival while providing a premier lakefront experience as the venue.

The Sets at Sunset Mission

Headquartered in Atlanta and taking place in a premier lake location in Georgia, Sets at Sunset is the premier destination event for music lovers. As one of Georgia’s newest and most innovative music festivals, we have made it our mission to bring together the segmented Atlanta dance music community by providing an unparalleled lakefront experience that happens on both water and land.

Why Choose Sets at Sunset?

Sets at Sunset prides ourselves on providing good, clean fun, relaxed energy, heavily curated lineups, and a 100% immersive experience for the listener, community, and vendors. Attendees can sit in their boats and enjoy the music, or come ashore and enjoy the food, sights and the high-quality sound Sets at Sunset has to offer.

Get Social with Sets at Sunset

To learn more about Sets at Sunset, contact us today at setsatsunset@gmail.com and let one of our representatives assist you and answer any questions you might have.
