Tourism Research Survey FAQs

Tourism Research Survey Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What is the survey about?

Our tourism market research study is gathering data from visitors about why they chose to visit our area, what they did while they visited, how much money they spent and how likely they are to return again. This information helps us determine who our most valuable visitors are and how to attract more of those people to the area.

  2. How do I get guests to fill out the survey?

    – Give them a survey card from the front desk display

    – Explain how to scan the QR code with their phone or access the survey online through the website

    – Be sure to remind them they will be entered to win a $500 gift card if they complete the survey

  3. Why would guests want to participate?

Every guest who completes the survey will be entered to win a $500 Mastercard Gift Card. The odds of winning are 1 in 300.

  4. Who is reviewing the survey data?

Professional tourism research specialists from Gray Research Solutions and Magellan Strategy Group will collect, review and report on the survey responses. These tourism pros will present their findings in a public meeting later in the year. You are welcome to attend this briefing to hear the results.

  5. How will you keep track of the surveys our guests complete?

At the bottom of each survey card there is a code for the guest to enter when they complete the survey online. Each participating hotel has a unique code. We will be able to count the surveys completed from your hotel guests by tracking the survey codes.

  6. What is the cash prize and how do we win?

For every 25 surveys completed by your guests, the front desk staff at your hotel will receive $100 cash. 50 cards handed out does not mean 50 completed responses received. It’s very important that you explain how to take the survey and ask the guest to complete the survey. Only complete responses received will be counted toward the cash prize.
