Gainesville Parks and Recreation is proud of its role in the quality of life our citizens covet. Agency operates and maintains eight major facilities, 22 parks and over 454+ acres of park land. They are steadfast in the commitment of building and preserving a parks and recreation system that meets the needs of the community.
More than 100,000 area residents participate in recreation opportunities that improve health, develop skills, build self-esteem, and bring families and friends together.
A vital component in the ability to serve the citizens and expand participation has been the implementation of their Vision 2014 Strategic Plan and its 5-Year Master Plan Update currently in progress.
