Located north of downtown Gainesville, Chattahoochee Golf Club is the oldest golf course in northeast Georgia.
The course underwent a complete renovation in 2006, with new greens, new bunkers, added fairway drainage, cement cart paths, new modern teaching center, a fleet of electric carts, and new tee boxes with 5 sets of tees.a
CourseCrafters and architect Kevin Hargrave teamed up to renovate the classic Robert Trent Jones, Sr. Layout. From the black tees, the course now measures over 7,000 yards.
The multi-million dollar renovation puts Chattahoochee in a class by itself when it comes to municipal courses. Course Crafters and architect Kevin Hargrave teamed up to renovate this classic Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed layout. New tee complexes, Bent Grass Dominant Southern Greens, new carts, concrete cart paths, clubhouse improvements and a new pro teaching facility are sure to challenge the best of the best.
Since opening in 1960, Chattahoochee Golf Club has been one of the premier public golf courses in northeast Georgia. Built on 183 acres of rolling farmland, the course design allows for easy walking and is enjoyable for both scratch and high handicap golfers. This course was not only built alongside Lake Lanier, but features some lakes of its own that come into play on three holes. Even though the fairways are lined with trees, they still afford generous landing areas.
As is typical of a Robert Trent Jones design, the course has large undulating greens averaging approximately 7000 square feet. Facilities include a newly remodeled clubhouse, two bentgrass practice putting greens, a driving range, a practice area including a sand bunker and chipping green.
