Four Reasons Flowery Branch Should Be on Your Must-Do Summer List

The town of Flowery Branch has a lot going on with the revitalization of their historic Old Town district starting this summer. We dig their special events, cool shops, great eats and drinks. Here are the Top Four reasons why we think Flowery Branch deserves to make your Summer Must-Do List…

Friday Block Parties

Downtown along Main Street and on the new City Hall lawn starting in June, Discover Lake Lanier will host another series of Block Parties. These Friday evening events once a month are free and filled with live music and family fun. You can expect a bevvy of food trucks and street bars plus delicious treats for sale from local merchants. Each month features a different theme with this season highlighting pop culture favorites including Star Wars and Harry Potter. In August, be sure to attend the back to school pep rally and street dance with deejay General Mealz. For a complete schedule of Block Party dates and happenings, check out the Block Party website here.

A Top 100 Restaurant and Funky Chic Merchants

Flowery Branch’s Old Town shopping district is about to get a face lift with the City’s major redevelopment plan about to begin in late spring. But don’t be deterred by the progress of construction. Downtown merchants are still open and will be offering their wares throughout the redevelopment. It may surprise you that a Top 100 restaurant in the USA is on Main Street in The Branch. Chef Nick St Clair’s Antebellum is a must do for summer with their seasonal menu of locally sourced meats and produce and a stellar selection of specialty cocktails that taste like summer. Surrounding Antebellum are the downtown merchants including Liberty Candy Company (handmade candies, novelty treats) Lakeside Market (specialty grocer, coffee counter) Southern Grace (floral, gift and events) Sample Pleasures (art, antiques, gifts) Common Grounds (coffee shop) Beer Me (tap room, growler store) Salon Carpe Diem (beauty salon)
