Pharmaceutical entrepreneur Don Panoz purchased Road Atlanta in 2006 and embarked on a major improvement program, drastically updating the circuit. In 2012, Road Atlanta was acquired by the NASCAR family of companies. Road Atlanta welcomed the new TUDOR United SportsCar Racing Series along with the Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup in 2014, that began an exciting new era of road racing in North America.
