National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend

GAINESVILLE – Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia, along with its sister councils across the country, will soon participate in National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend.

National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend will give girls from the Gainesville area a chance to show off their cookie-selling skills by participating in booth and door-to-door sales; however, this year’s celebration will also give local restaurants an opportunity to participate.

February 27 through March 1, five restaurants in the Gainesville area will offer their own Girl Scout Cookie desserts. The public will then vote on their favorite offering at gshg.org/vote, and the winning restaurant will be presented with the National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend Dessert Competition trophy and the bragging rights that go with it.

Participating restaurants are as follows:

Most restaurants will be preparing desserts featuring the Samoa (a crisp cookie coated in caramel, sprinkled with toasted coconut and striped with dark chocolaty coating) in honor of its 40th birthday, but restaurants are not limited to using that flavor/variety.
