GSC Student Art on Display

The 2009 Graduating Art Student Show features a variety of works by students that are receiving their Associates in Art from Gainesville State College.  Media includes sculpture, watercolor, acrylic, digital imagery, ceramics, and drawing.

The last exhibit of the academic year will feature works of the current graduating class of art students.  This is an annual event that allows the students to showcase their hard work in a professional gallery setting and provides the community with a sneak-peek at these emerging artists.

The featured student artists are:  Joshua McDonald of Baldwin; Kinsley Compton of Braselton; Lesther Martin, Jamie Raper, and Blaine Watson of Cumming; Heather Bearden of Dawsonville; Mary Ledford of Flowery Branch; Marjory Clark, Curtis Footit, and Brian Looper of Gainesville;  Amy Fischer of Lawrenceville; Shawnna Wright of Sugar Hill; and Richard Gnann, IV of Winder.

The Closing Reception for the exhibit will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 5:30 p.m. in the Gainesville State College Continuing Education/Performing Arts Center Lobby near the Roy C. Moore Art Gallery.

The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.  For Gallery hours and additional information, contact:  John Ammos, Gallery Director and Assistant Professor of Art, jammos@gsc.edu, or call the Gainesville State College Humanities and Fine Arts Division at 678-717-3697.
